What the Role Actually Involves
Working as promotional staff isn't just standing around looking good. Here's what a typical event day looks like from start to finish.
Before the event
Briefing & preparation
You'll receive a detailed brief via WhatsApp 2–3 days before the event — venue address, arrival time, dress code, and your specific role. You arrive 30–60 minutes early for an on-site briefing with the team leader.
During the event
Engagement & representation
Depending on your role, you'll greet guests, demonstrate products, manage registration, or run activations. You're on your feet for the full shift, engaging with the public, and representing the brand at every interaction.
After the event
Wrap-up & payment
You'll help with stand pack-down or venue cleanup as needed, hand any captured leads to the team leader, and check out. Payment is processed promptly after the event — no chasing required.

The face of a brand at product launches, trade shows, and in-store activations. You'll greet customers, demonstrate products, answer questions, and create a positive first impression that sticks. Most shifts run 4–8 hours on your feet.
Brand Ambassadors
A step beyond single-event staffing. You'll work with a brand across multiple events, learning the product deeply, holding genuine conversations with consumers, and representing the brand consistently. Suited to people who build rapport naturally.
Event Hostesses
The first person every guest meets. You'll manage registration desks, welcome delegates, distribute name badges, and direct attendees. Suited to organised, presentable people who stay calm when 200 guests arrive at once.
Exhibition Staff
Staff the stand at major expos and trade shows. You'll attract visitors, start conversations, demonstrate products, and capture leads — standing for long periods while keeping energy high. Great for confident, proactive communicators.
Golf Day Ladies
Support corporate golf days from dawn registration through to evening prize-giving. You'll welcome players, manage hospitality areas, and run on-course activation points. Outdoor, full-day shifts at golf courses across South Africa.
Corporate Event Staff
Work galas, award ceremonies, conferences, and corporate functions. You'll manage guest flow, assist with hospitality, and ensure everything runs to schedule. Ideal for reliable, polished professionals who follow instructions precisely.
