The Brief

Glamour SA needed a full event staffing team for their Hair & Beauty Masterclass — a premium beauty industry event bringing together hairstylists, beauty professionals, and beauty enthusiasts for a day of live demonstrations, product showcases, and brand activations. The objectives were:

• Manage smooth registration and check-in for 200+ attendees
• Welcome and direct guests through multiple masterclass stations
• Support brand activation booths where beauty brands demonstrated products
• Maintain a premium, polished atmosphere matching Glamour SA's editorial brand

Because this was a beauty industry event, staff needed to be well-presented and comfortable in a fashion-forward environment — able to engage with beauty professionals and enthusiasts alike.

The Team We Deployed

MRJ Promotions provided a team of 12 staff selected for their presentation, communication skills, and experience in beauty and fashion events:

• 4 registration hostesses to manage the check-in desk, distribute name badges, and direct attendees
• 4 brand activation staff to support beauty brand booths, demonstrate products, and engage attendees
• 2 floor coordinators to manage attendee flow between masterclass stations
• 1 VIP hostess to manage the guest speaker and VIP area
• 1 team leader to coordinate the full team and liaise with the Glamour SA organisers

All staff received a pre-event briefing covering the event programme, brand standards, venue layout, and the specific beauty brands they'd be supporting.

How the Day Unfolded

The event ran from 8 AM registration through to a 5 PM closing. Key moments:

• Registration (8–9 AM) — 200+ attendees arrived within an hour. Our four registration hostesses processed guests efficiently, distributed name badges and goodie bags, and directed each attendee to the welcome area. Despite the rush, queues stayed short and every guest was welcomed personally.
• Masterclass sessions (9 AM–4 PM) — Live hair and beauty demonstrations ran across three stations throughout the day. Our floor coordinators managed the flow of attendees between stations, ensuring nobody missed a session and that speakers started on time.
• Brand activations (all day) — Beauty brands ran product demonstration booths around the perimeter of the venue. Our activation staff engaged attendees, demonstrated products, and created a lively, interactive atmosphere that kept attendees circulating and engaged.
• VIP management — Our VIP hostess managed the guest speaker area, ensuring the featured beauty industry speakers were looked after and that the VIP meet-and-greet ran to schedule.
• Closing (4–5 PM) — The team supported the wrap-up, managed the exit flow, and helped with goodie bag distribution as attendees departed.
